Our chooks love it when we leave the pen open all day and they can come and go as they please, we have 12 chickens and they lay up to 11 eggs a day. Their little routine is: they cruise around the yard all day, go into the pen to lay the eggs by about 3pm and on dark they put themselves to bed. The only problem is the dogs have discovered that eggs are tasty treats and have started eating the eggs before we get home to collect them. Digby the Corgi ate 7 eggs and left the shells yesterday.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop the dogs eating the eggs? I don’t want to have to tie up Digby.
